The Vista - TurboFit EtCO2 (Also known as PetCO2) Option

The number 17032 EtCO2 option is available for any Vista Mini-CPX. If this option is purchased after delivery of the Mini-CPX system there will be a $1500 installation charge; this charge does not apply if the option is purchased with a new Mini-CPX.

How it works:

The EtCO2 option involves the installation of a 2nd CO2 analyzer into the Mini-CPX. The patient sample line becomes a double lumen tube. This allows continuous sample flow for the EtCO2 analyzer and proportional sample flow for the standard sampling system.

This unique arrangement records both EtCO2 and mixed expired CO2 simultaneously so that VD/VT can be calculated. This option is not available from any other manufacturer of metabolic measurement systems!

The external EtCO2 Option

The number 17033 external EtCO2 option is also available for any Vista Mini-CPX. If this option is purchased after delivery of the Mini-CPX system there will be a $900 installation charge; this charge does not apply if the option is purchased with a new Mini-CPX.

How the external EtCO2 option works:

The external EtCO2 option permits the connection of an external CO2 analyzer to determine and record EtCO2. A double lumen sampling line is used to draw breath-by-breath exhaled gases into both the Mini-CPX and the external CO2 gas analyzer. The external CO2 analyzer signal (recorder) output is connected to the Mini-CPX. The external CO2 gas analyzer must be a fast-response type; it does not need an EtCO2 output, our Mini-CPX has the ability to detect the EtCO2 from the external fast response signal.
